Personal AI agents: ChatGPT and Claude
Connect your own ChatGPT or Claude to CloseUp and let it read your leads, add notes and tasks, and update statuses, within your permissions.
This capability is in early access. Contact us to turn it on for your company. Talk to us
Early access. This capability is rolling out. If you do not see the option, or you see Agent connections are not active yet, contact the CloseUp team.
Each user can connect their own ChatGPT or Claude to their CloseUp account through a secure sign-in, then ask things like "What should I do today?", "Which deals are stuck?" or "Prepare me for my call with...". The agent can also add notes and tasks and update a lead status. The connection uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP).
The agent's access never exceeds your own permissions. It sees only records you are allowed to see, and CloseUp checks your permissions again on every action.
Before you start
- A ChatGPT or Claude account that lets you add a custom MCP connection.
- Some apps require an eligible plan or approval from your workspace admin in that app.
Connect your agent
- Open your connectionsClick your name or picture at the bottom of the side menu. In Personal settings, choose the Connections tab and find My personal agents.
- Choose your agentClick Connect to ChatGPT or Connect to Claude. CloseUp copies the connection address and opens the connection settings in that app. For another agent that supports MCP, click Connect an agent, then Copy connection address.
- Paste the addressIn ChatGPT, choose Add → Create custom MCP server and paste the address into the server URL field. In Claude, choose Add custom connector and paste it into Remote MCP server URL.
- Sign in to CloseUpThe agent opens a CloseUp sign-in page. Sign in and check that the company and return address shown are correct.
- Choose permissions and approveSelect the permissions to grant and click Allow connection.
- Return to CloseUpThe connection appears in the list. If it does not, click Check connection.
The buttons only open the settings in the app. They do not install or approve a connection for you. The app name on the approval page is supplied by the app itself, so make sure you started the connection in an agent you trust.
Choose permissions
Write permissions start unchecked. Once you allow them, the agent performs those actions without an additional confirmation in CloseUp.
| Permission | What the agent can do |
|---|---|
| Read leads and sales overview | Search leads, see lead details and lead counts by status |
| Read interaction history | Read the interaction history of a lead you can see |
| Read notes | Read notes |
| Read tasks | Read tasks |
| Read meetings | Read meetings |
| Read existing AI analysis | Read AI analysis that already exists on the lead card |
| Create tasks | Create a task, optionally attached to a lead |
| Add notes | Add a note to a lead |
| Change lead status | Change a lead's pipeline status |
| Read changes and events | Check what changed recently |
| Receive automatic events | Get notified about changes, if the agent supports it |
Pause, extend or disconnect
- Pause stops the connection for now, and Resume turns it back on.
- When the connection's approval period is about to end, an Extend button appears. Extending keeps your agent working.
- Disconnect removes the connection, and the agent loses access to your account.
